Meeting with British Prime Minister Sunak

Corporate Events

On May 18, I had a meeting with Prime Minister Sunak of the United Kingdom at Roppongi Hills, Tokyo. It was a little cloudy in Tokyo that day, but when I arrived at the venue on an upper floor, I could see a blue sky. Together with the high temperature, we enjoyed the early summer-like sunshine.

As outlined in a recent press release, we reaffirmed our commitment to the challenging theme of creating a carbon-free society.

At the reception, I talked with the leaders of participating companies, and also with Ms. Akshata Murty, the wife of the U.K. prime minister. We greatly enjoyed speaking about Japanese whisky, golf, and many other topics, making the day truly fulfilling.
