Despite a challenging business environment marked by the impact of U.S. tariffs and surging prices for raw materials and energy, the company was able to report solid financial results for FY2025. In addition to successfully responding to demand from the expanding data center market, we saw steady growth in the sales of automotive wiring harnesses, power cables, and equipment for power transmission and distribution. Thanks to these factors, consolidated net sales were 5,110 billion yen. The company not only surpassed the five trillion-yen milestone for the first time, but we also set new records in operating income, ordinary income, and net profit.

With these results, we have successfully achieved the goals announced in 2023 in our Mid-term Management Plan 2025. I’m very proud that we were able to accomplish these ambitious goals, and would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone whose efforts and support made this possible.

In addition to reporting our financial results, we also announced the Mid-term Management 2028 at the press conference. This new plan was formulated to guide our activities for the next three years and designates these fields as our key focus areas: Digital & AI, Energy, and Mobility. Through the collective strength of the Sumitomo Electric Group, we will respond to the needs of society and aim to achieve rapid growth to six trillion yen in net sales and 600 billion yen in operating income. Furthermore, through the practice of Goho Yoshi (five-way win), we will strive for mutual prosperity with our various stakeholders while working to ensure sustainable growth and greater corporate value in the medium to long term.

The Sumitomo Electric Group comprises more than 400 companies around the world and approximately 300,000 employees. Working together, we are dedicated to the pursuit of top technology and the vision of “living in safety and comfort on our green planet.” We deeply appreciate the continued support of our endeavors.
