Certification Ceremony for Fellows and Senior Specialists
Every January, as a way to ensure that technical expertise is passed on within our company and to promote the development of our human resources, we certify employees with rare and exceptional knowledge as Fellows, Senior Specialists, and Division Specialists. These individuals are often engineers who work on the leading edge of their field, have raised our company’s profile among their peers, and have helped nurture the next generation. This year’s four new Fellows and two new Senior Specialists were honored at a ceremony on February 6.
Within our company, we have a platform on our intranet where the Fellows and Specialists can introduce their respective areas of expertise, receive inquiries from other employees, and exchange information. We believe that it’s beneficial for our employees to have opportunities to interact beyond departmental boundaries, given the speed at which industry and society are changing due to technological trends such as generative AI and CASE. By taking advantage of such opportunities, we want our experts to share their know-how and engage in the important role of passing on and further developing the technologies that are the driving force of the Sumitomo Electric Group.
It is my hope that those newly certified will not only pass on their knowledge, but also their spirit and ambitions to many of their younger colleagues, who in turn will fuel the organization’s future growth.
