Inari Festival at Itami Works
On April 6th, the Inari Festival was held at our manufacturing sites in Osaka, Itami, and Yokohama. The Inari Festival takes place every year on the first Sunday of April to celebrate the company’s founding. This year, it was raining in the Kansai region the night before the event, but the rain stopped in time for the event and so we were able to enjoy the festival in fine weather and with many cherry blossoms in full bloom at each site.

I attended the Inari Festival at Itami Works and, at the safety ceremony there, prayed for the safety of our employees and also for the company’s prosperity. In light of a serious accident that occurred last July, we vowed once again to come together as a company and maintain safety as our top priority so that an accident like that never happens again.
After the ceremony, I went to observe several of the activities that were organized for employees' families and the local community. One activity in particular that drew a lot of attention was a robot operating challenge that had been created by last year’s new employees during their training program. At other sites, many people enjoyed various activities such as sporting events, factory tours for employees’ families and local residents, and showroom walk-throughs.
As part of our support for Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, we set up an area inside Itami Works to display posters and a video about the Sumitomo Pavilion, which our company was involved in creating. We also held a raffle and gave away stickers decorated with the logos of our company and the Sumitomo Pavilion. We hope that our efforts helped get people interested in going to the Expo. As a company based in Kansai, we will continue to deepen our connections with local residents, build excitement for the Expo, and proactively contribute to the development of the region.
