Thank You for Your Support This Year
With only a few days remaining in 2025, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for your great support and cooperation throughout the year.
This year, the Osaka-Kansai Expo was held in Japan. Like many visitors from around the world, I also went to the event and had a wonderful experience reflecting on the development of technology & culture and taking in a vision of future society.
For the Sumitomo Electric Group, it was a challenging business environment to navigate this year due to factors such as the US tariff policy and its effects on supply chains. But thanks to steady performance in three of our primary business areas — environment & energy, infocommunications, and automotive — we were able to report new records in our interim financial results for net sales, operating income, ordinary income, and net profit. We also announced an upward revision for the full-year forecast. Therefore, in the time remaining, we will keep working diligently to achieve the goals of our Mid-term Management Plan 2025.
Looking ahead, 2026 is sure to be an important year as we formulate our next mid-term management plan and embark on a new start. Through business growth and the practice of “Goho Yoshi” (Five-Way Win), the Sumitomo Electric Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a better society.
