Annual Meeting with Important Business Partners
On June 4th, the Social Infrastructure Sales & Marketing Unit and the Electronics Sales Unit hosted a meeting of our authorized distributors in Japan. This was the 42nd edition of the meeting, which traces its origin to a national wire & cable distributors conference that first took place in 1983. This year’s meeting was held at the Happo-en venue in Tokyo and, as always, was an important chance for us to deepen the relationships with have with our authorized distributors and strengthen collaboration.
Prior to the main event, guests were invited to an exhibit of our products on four important themes: space, humanoid robots, data centers, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, we offered seminars on specific products, our core technologies, and management challenges. The event was very well-attended, as we welcomed more than 140 representatives from 40 authorized distributors across Japan.
Once the meeting formally started, I gave a presentation that covered the previous year’s business results, our outlook on the current fiscal year, and the Mid-term Management Plan 2028 that was announced in May. I also spoke about Goho-Yoshi (or Five-Way Win), which is our interpretation of the concept of multi-stakeholder capitalism. Following my talk, the heads of both sales divisions delivered their remarks on specific sales objectives, and two distributors were recognized for their outstanding results in fiscal year 2025.
At the reception, I was able to personally express my gratitude to attendees for their ongoing cooperation and support, as well as engage in some lively conversations about ways to further our collaboration. Guests at the reception were entertained by a professional singer of classical music and, in an unexpected moment, the president of a distributor surprised everyone with his wonderful singing voice and led the party in a sing-along. I’m sure it was a memorable occasion for attendees.
We look forward to continuing our joint efforts with authorized distributors and expanding our businesses together.
