Welcoming Ceremony
On April 1st, we held a ceremony to welcome 388 new employees to the company. This year we were able to bring everyone together for the ceremony, unlike in previous years where the event took place in different locations that participated remotely. It was a pleasure to be able to see everyone’s face and address them personally, not online.
For all new employees, the first step is to receive practical training at one of our 15 manufacturing bases across Japan. The purpose of this training is to acquire skills and knowledge related to the company’s manufacturing processes. The content of the training differs by job type, with technical staff receiving roughly six months of training and general staff spending about two months in the program.
Having new employees directly experience manufacturing in this way provides a valuable opportunity for them to learn about our technology and become aware of how highly we prioritize safety in our operations. I hope everyone will accept the challenge of learning all they can, as this training period can lay the groundwork for one’s professional growth as well as the continued development of the Sumitomo Electric Group.
