Wakamiya Onmatsuri Festival

At the 890th Kasuga Wakamiya Onmatsuri festival from December 16 to 17, I had the honor of serving as Hinotsukai, an important role that is sometimes referred to as envoy or messenger. The opportunity to participate in this grand Shinto ritual with such a long history was a great honor for me, not only as a steward of the company but on a personal level as well. I am deeply grateful for this valuable experience.

On the day of the festival, I wore the traditional attire and performed each aspect of the ritual with utmost care. Being part of a festival that has continued for hundreds of years made me keenly aware of the responsibility of carrying on tradition. It occurred to me that the notion of maintaining the essence of a tradition, while adapting it to changing times and then passing it on to the next generation, is an idea that aligns with the practice of corporate management. I intend to apply this lesson to my future business endeavors.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the Kasuga Taisha Shrine and everyone who helped prepare me for the ritual. I was deeply inspired by the connection I felt with traditional Japanese culture. Going forward, I will use this experience as a source of strength as I steadily and faithfully carry out my duties.
