Energy and Electronics Materials Laboratory
We contributes to the development of products and technologies in the Group's extensive business fields by leveraging our core technologies for metal, inorganic, and polymer materials as well as electrochemistry.
Metal and Inorganic Material Technology
Keywords: copper wire, continuous casting, plastic forming, composite materials, surface treatment, porous metal
We are developing copper alloy wires used for wiring harnesses contributing to vehicle light-weighting and manufacturing processes of oxygen-free copper wires for magnet wires for xEV, using our technologies for continuous casting and plastic forming.
Employing our composite material technologies, we are developing new materials designed to have well-balanced properties such as their thermal conductivity and expansion rate. Our plating technology has produced Celmet™, and we are currently developing Celmet™ composed of various alloys. This technology is also used for surface treatment of tab leads and heatspreader.
Polymer Material Technology
Keywords: polymer synthesis, resin formulation, polymer alloy, nano-composite
Employing polymer synthesis and resin formulation technologies, we have been developing a wide array of products such as electric wires and cables in the fields of environment and energy, electronics, and automotive, as well as magnet wires for environment-friendly vehicles.
We are also working on the development of newly functional and high performance polymer materials through nano-sized material structure control (polymer alloy and nano-composite).
Fine Circuit Fabrication Technology
Keywords: flexible printed circuit, fine pich, high aspect
To accommodate the need for high-density and fine circuits, we are developing fine circuit products based on our unique material, plating, and process technology. We are also working on their application to our electronics products.
