Eco Activities 2030

"Eco-Activities 2030" is an initiative aimed at contributing to the preservation of biodiversity and environmental protection through daily eco-friendly activities such as planting trees and flowers at our work sites, local nature conservation efforts, and recycling waste into valuable resources. The Sumitomo Electric Group aims to implement over 300 initiatives under the theme of "Good for the Earth" in more than 20 countries and regions by 2030. Here we introduce the activities being carried out in the info-communications business.

Participation in local conservation efforts

1. Participation in local conservation efforts

In the info-communications business unit, we regularly participate in local cleanup activities to contribute to the community and protect the ecosystem around our production sites. At the Yokohama Plant, we participate in the "Hama Road Supporter" cleaning activities along the Kashio River, while at Kiyohara Sumiden, we participate in the annual cleaning activities in the Kiyohara Industrial Area.
In addition, we have recently begun participating in "Beach Clean-up Activities" to protect the beautiful beaches of Kanagawa Prefecture, and we aim to expand our activities in the future.

Greening Activities

2. Greening activities

At the Yokohama Plant, we regularly conduct "Ha-Na-Ni-Wa Activities," and at the Kiyohara Sumiden Plant, we also conduct some greening activities. Our goal is to create a production environment that is comfortable and rich in nature for all living creatures, including people, birds, insects, etc. This is an important initiative aimed at considering the coexistence of production and nature, and contributing to building a sustainable future.

Participation in the Eco Cap Movement

3. Participation in the eco cap movement

Our company participates in the "Eco Cap Movement" by collecting plastic bottles and caps after use. This initiative helps promote the recycling of plastic products and raises employee awareness of environmental protection activities. In addition, it is linked to social contribution activities such as supporting welfare initiatives.
