HR Stakeholders Roundtable in Inverness, Scotland
Sumitomo Electric U.K. Power Cables Ltd. (SEUK-CL), a group company of Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., located in Scotland, UK held its first Human Resources Stakeholders Roundtable in Inverness, Scotland on 12 July.
SEUK-CL believes that it will significantly contribute to the Sumitomo Electric group’s collective vision and determination to support the net zero society objectives and goals of the UK and Scottish Governments through its construction of a high-voltage power cabling facility in the Scottish Highlands.
Recruitment was highlighted as one of the company’s most important activities. SEUK-CL will create more than 150 direct job opportunities in the area. To make the business a success, SEUK-CL organized its first HR Stakeholders Roundtable, which was attended by key participants from six local organizations. During the event, positive developments and challenges in terms of recruitment and skills development were discussed. It was encouraging to hear from the group the extent to which the new factory project will benefit the area and help encourage the local population to remain in the area by providing vital career opportunities.
SEUK-CL was also delighted to receive its official Corporate Membership from the Inverness Chamber of Commerce, with whom the company looks forward to working closely throughout its development and beyond.
SEUK-CL looks forward to continuing this valued collaboration with local organizations and hopes to expand this further to help benefit the entire region.
