Power cables
Sumitomo Electric has been supplying low to high voltage power cables to the customers in more than 50 countries for over a hundred years. For railway projects, our cables are used for traction (feeding), distribution,signaling etc.
Contact Wires
Contact wires are used to supply electricity to moving vehicles (e.g. rolling stock, trucks, transport equipment, and cranes) via pantographs. These products are used in various fields.
Air springs for vehicles
Air springs, which are mounted between the car body and bogie (bogie and wheels), are important parts for significantly reducing the vibration transmitted from the wheels to the car body and increasing improving ride comfort of trains.
Sumimount™
Sumimount™ industrial air springs are designed to absorb vibration by using the elasticity of air. The bellows are made from tenacious rubber, and their top and bottom are clamped using metal fittings to trap the air. These products are also utilized as actuators to operate machines by stretching and contracting the air springs.
