Sumitomo Electric Exhibits Thunderbolt™5 and DisplayPort2.1 Cables at VISION 2026
Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. will exhibit Thunderbolt™5 and DisplayPort2.1 cables at VISION 2026, the exhibition of machinery and image processing technologies, to be held in Stuttgart, Germany from Tuesday, October 6 to Thursday, October 8, 2026.
VISION has been held since 1988 as a trade fair for equipment and technologies related to image processing. In 2024, it welcomed exhibitors from 38 countries and visitors from more than 65 countries, making it one of the world’s leading specialist trade fairs in this field.
At this year’s exhibition, we will showcase Thunderbolt™5 cables, based on the latest specification of the high-performance Thunderbolt™ interface recommended by Intel, and DisplayPort2.1 cables, based on the latest version of the DisplayPort standard developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA).*
Thunderbolt™5 cables support an advanced interface standard that automatically optimises charging, power delivery and data transmission simply by connecting a computer to a peripheral device. As a certified supplier of Thunderbolt™, Sumitomo Electric develops, manufactures and sells Thunderbolt™ cables. In addition to being compatible with the previous Thunderbolt™4 standard, our cables are also compatible with a wide range of USB4 and USB-C products.
DisplayPort2.1 cables are backward-compatible with previous specifications and support high-resolution video output, including 8K and 16K, as well as higher refresh rates. Leveraging our advanced technological expertise, these cables deliver stable transmission of high-definition, smooth images, providing outstanding performance and quality.
We will also showcase external interface cables and internal wiring solutions that utilise optical fibre, which is well suited to long-distance transmission.
