Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. announced on December 3, 2025, that it has obtained standard certification^*1 for its DP80LL cable (3.0 m), which supports DisplayPort 2.1.

DisplayPort is a digital video and audio interface standard established by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA).^*2 The latest DisplayPort 2.1 standard maintains backward compatibility with previous versions while supporting high-resolution 8K and 16K video output and faster refresh rates. High-speed transmission cables are essential for the latest displays and PC peripherals to deliver their full performance.

Our DP80LL cable supports the fastest data transmission rate in the DisplayPort standard, 80 Gbps, and achieves high-precision data transmission even at a maximum length of 3.0 m thanks to its low attenuation characteristics. The DP80LL cable is significantly longer than conventional DP80 cables (1.0 m), enabling stable connections between devices installed at greater distances.

1. High-Spec Video Output and Long-Distance Transmission
Supports uncompressed 4K / 240 Hz video for smoother display performance and handles uncompressed video and audio data transmission. Enables data transmission at 80 Gbps over distances up to 3.0 m.

2. Simultaneous Connection to Two 8K Displays or Three 4K Displays
Supports daisy chain connections with DisplayPort 1.2 or later compatible displays. Allows connection of up to three 4K monitors (90Hz refresh rate) or two 8K monitors (120Hz refresh rate) from a single port.

3. High Durability and Flexibility
Features a flexible, high bend-resistance cable design that is easy to handle and compact for portability.
