Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has received the “2025 Implementation of the Year Award” from the international organization IOWN Global ForumTM^*1 (IOWN GF), for its Proof of Concept (PoC) for the AI-assisted entertainment service, Interactive Live Music, as the most contributive initiative to the social implementation of IOWN^*2 technology.

The Implementation of the Year Award, acknowledges the recognized PoC team of the IOWN GF that has made the most significant contribution not only to technological development, but also to social implementation using IOWN technology.

The PoC team, composed of Sumitomo Electric, Sony Group Corporation, Fujitsu Limited, NEC Corporation, and Keysight Technologies, Inc., conducted the PoC for the next-generation 3D/XR video service, “Interactive Live Music.” The team successfully demonstrated the latency target of 10 milliseconds or less for gaze-tracking video (Motion-to-Photon) to prevent motion sickness, for the first time in the world.^*3,*4

We will continue to strive for product development and proposals by utilizing this PoC and related technologies to develop innovative next-generation services.
