Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has been selected as an official sponsor for the 3rd Vocational Skills Competition, to be held from September 19 (Friday) to September 23(Tuesday), 2025, in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China.
Sumitomo Electric’s optical fiber fusion splicers are widely used by telecommunications operators and construction companies in the country, and are highly valued for their excellent splicing performance, environmental resistance, safety, and usability. At the competition, we will support the event by providing optical fusion splicers and related optical wiring products to competitors in the "Information Network Cabling" skill competition.
The competition is hosted by the Chinese government and aims to foster technicians and vocational education, with young skilled workers competing in their skill sets. The competition has attracted over 100,000 visitors, including high-ranking Chinese government officials, marking it as one of the largest events of its kind in China. Following our participation as an official sponsor in both the first and second competitions, we are excited to support this prestigious event for the third consecutive time.

This year's event will feature over 3,500 outstanding competitors from all over China, competing in 106 vocational categories under the theme of “Skills Illuminate the Future.” Among these, the top performers in 66 events will be selected to represent China at the 48th WorldSkills Competition to be held in Shanghai in 2026.*1
Since the 42nd WorldSkills Competition in Leipzig in 2013, Sumitomo Electric has proudly served as an official sponsor for six consecutive terms, providing equipment and technical support. Moving forward, we will continue to focus on developing cutting-edge products and technology in the information and communications field while nurturing skilled personnel.
