Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Osamu Inoue, hereafter "our company") has developed and launched the Chamfering Endmills AVIC series for aerospace components for sale as of October 2024.

In the machining of exotic alloys (titanium alloy and nickel-based heat-resistant alloy), which are mainly used as work materials for aerospace components, the control standards for burrs and surface quality after machining, which affect the product life, are becoming stricter, so there is an increasing need for higher performance and higher efficiency tools.

In response to these needs, our company has developed and launched the Chamfering Endmills AVIC series, ideal for machining of exotic alloys.

1. Features
The cutting edge has excellent sharpness on both front and back portions, realising good machined surface quality and burr control in all types of chamfering operations. In addition, longer tool life is realised through tool grades developed for the various work materials.

For titanium alloy: Metric type 8 Cat. Nos., Inch type 6 Cat. Nos.
For heat-resistant alloy: Metric type 8 Cat. Nos., Inch type 6 Cat. Nos.
*Inch models will be available from November 2024

36 million JPY/year in the first year, 54 million JPY/year after 2 years
