Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Osamu Inoue; below, "our company") has expanded and launched TTE type threading inserts for the SEC-Grooving Tool GWC series as of November 2024.

In recent years, due to rising demand and higher precision in sectors such as the automotive and electronic equipment components industries, the demand for small lathe/autolathe tools has been growing year by year; with regards to threading, demands for machined surfaces and precision are on the rise. In addition, work materials are diversifying with the increasing use of exotic alloys and aluminum alloys.

We have launched for sales the TTE type threading inserts for SEC-Grooving Tools GWC series in 5 types of insert grades* that have proven track records of helping customers reduce cost and improve productivity in this type of applications.

Coated carbide grade for small product machining AC1030U, coated carbide grades for exotic alloy machining AC5015S/AC5025S, non-ferrous metal machining grade DL1500 and general-purpose uncoated cermet grade T1500A

Thread pitch from 0.2mm to 3.0mm in general-purpose 60°/55° threads available.

(2) Extensive lineup of grades
Lineup of 5 grades.
・Coated carbide grade for small product machining AC1030U
・Coated carbide grades for exotic alloy machining AC5015S/AC5025S
・Non-ferrous metal machining grade DL1500
・General-purpose uncoated cermet grade T1500A

(3) Can be mounted on existing holders
Can be mounted on SEC-Grooving Tool GWC series, making threading possible just by changing the insert.
