Global Internship Program 2025

If you've ever wondered what it's like to work in Japan, then the 10-week or 12-week Sumitomo Electric Global Internship Program could be the ideal opportunity for you. This program offers a chance to gain practical work experience at the R&D labs or corporate headquarters of Sumitomo Electric Industries.

Included in our internships: Round-trip airfare from the country of your university to Japan, accommodations and meals, commuter rail pass (if applicable), travel insurance, and a modest weekly stipend to assist with living expenses while in Japan. Please note that this is not a paid internship. Modifications to the start/end dates of the internship will be considered on a case-by-case basis. At the completion of the program, full-time opportunities in some positions may be available.

Frontier Technologies Lab Intern in Osaka, Japan (12 weeks)
Human Resources Development Department Intern in Osaka, Japan (10 weeks)
Optical Communications Lab Intern in Yokohama, Japan (10 weeks)

The 10-week internship program will start from May 26th, 2025, to August 1st, 2025, and the 12-week internship program will start from May 12th, 2025, to August 1st, 2025.

The year 2025 is special as the Expo 2025 will be held in Osaka from April 13 through October 13th. You can visit the venue during the internship.
